Make Your own Santa Cookie Plate
Santa is coming! We all want to say thanks to Santa, right? This week’s freebie includes a tutorial on making your own cookies for Santa plate with this Free Dear Santa SVG. This cookie plate SVG is easy to cut with vinyl cutting machines like Cricut & Silhouette! Download the free SVG and watch the tutorial below to see how to make your own cookie plate for Santa using adhesive vinyl.

Adding adhesive vinyl to a plate is a great way to make your own plate for Christmas treats for Santa. However, keep in mind that adhesive vinyl is not safe for food. To make this a safe plate of food for Santa, we will add our vinyl to the back of the dish. If you decide to add your vinyl to the top of the plate, be sure to add a napkin or a clear plate on top of the plate to keep your snacks safe.

Step by Step instructions on how to make a Santa Cookie Plate.
Measure your plate.
I used a 10.5″ clear plate from Dollar Tree. You will need to measure your plate to resize your SVG in your cutting software.

Bring your Free Santa Plate-Snowflakes SVG into Cricut Design Space
I use Cricut Design Space, but other cutting software follows the same general instructions. You can watch the video tutorial to see how to add your free SVG to your Design Space canvas.

Add a circle with your plate dimensions.
Because we are adding this design to the back of the plate, you will need to flip your design in Design Space or mirror your design before you cut your vinyl.

Add your adhesive vinyl to your cutting mat.
Apply your vinyl to your cutting mat, and use your brayer to help it adhere for a better cut.

Cut your adhesive vinyl with your scissors into smaller pieces and weed.

Add transfer tape to your weeded vinyl.
After cutting down your vinyl pieces that include the text for your plate, add transfer tape to apply. I found it easier to pull out a section of the transfer tape and lay my pieces on top.

Position your Santa plate words on the back before removing the transfer tape to apply your vinyl.

Use the hinge method with painter’s tape to remove the adhesive vinyl from your transfer paper.

Add the rest of the adhesive vinyl elements.

Your cookie plate is done, and now Santa can have his midnight snack!

This week’s free Christmas SVG can be used on any round plate. If you choose to add the Dear Santa SVG to the top, please remember that adhesive vinyl is not food safe.
Bonus Santa Cookie Plate SVG Freebie
I often have multiple design scenarios when creating projects for our weekly freebie. I eventually weed it down to one, but I decided to include two designs for the Santa plate this week because I really couldn’t decide which I liked better. This second design has the text in the middle of the plate. Keep in mind that vinyl is not food safe if you choose to add this design to the top of your plate.
