Until we meet again
Losing a loved one is hard; suddenly, all the events in life now have a before and after date, and you go through the ‘this is the first without them’ holidays. The things you looked forward to now feel empty when your loved one isn’t there. The wishing they were there never stops, and if you believe in that sort of thing, you keep thinking about when you’ll meet again. This week I designed this free SVG, Until we meet again, as a memorial piece for a loved one that has passed. You can add your favorite picture to it and have a beautiful keepsake.

It’s been eight months since I lost my dad, and it still stings. I imagine it always will, although I can say there are more smiles and laughter when I remember him now. This month is his birthday, and I’m feeling his absence hard. On Facebook, the memories pop up showing you what happened last year on this day, and I know all his birthday posts are going to come up soon. Last year my cousin recorded him dancing to a birthday polka and shared it with the family online. It’s one of my favorite things to watch! My dad was diagnosed with cancer in May of 2019. They gave him 12-18 months to live… this is where I’m just going to say- I HATE YOU CANCER, and leave out all the nasty words I’d really like to say.
One of my favorite pictures
My dad loved to sit by the pond and feed the fish. My sister took this picture on one of our visits and it quickly became one of my favorites. There’s just something about a photo that isn’t planned. ❤

When I designed this SVG, I added a square where I thought a picture would look nice, and I left a space above the wings where you could add a name if you choose. You can move the elements around to fit your style and the surface you are putting it on. I would love to see what you create if you decide to use this SVG. ❤

Three of my favorite people
These are my children posing with my dad at my nephew’s graduation party. My dad had already had his first surgery to remove the tumor in his brain, and he was wearing a black head wrap to protect the incision, still looking handsome and smiling like he didn’t have a care in the world! He was definitely the life of every party he attended. ❤

What’s that font?
The font used in this design is called Lightning Script, it is a beautiful script font with lots of gorgeous glyphs.
